Calling all nature-minded 18 to 35 year olds! ๐ก ๐ ๐ฟ Want to learn new skills, meet likeminded people and take meaningful action for the environment?
In Summary
- An immersive environmental experience for young adults aged 18-35, happening from 4-6 October 2024 in Greater Shepparton.
- Engage in land restoration, learn about native flora and fauna, and develop conservation skills with hands-on practical experiences and expert advice.
- Expressions of interest open from 9 August to 8 September 2024. Apply at the Shaping Greater Shepparton website. Preference will be given for locals from the Goulburn Broken catchment area.
- $175 General, $50 Concession (health care card holders, full-time students). Includes meals, guest speakers, and practical activities.
RiverConnect and partners are proud to present the Caring for Nature Camp, a wonderful opportunity for young adults to learn new skills whilst taking action for the environment.
The camp will take place in Greater Shepparton from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 October 2024. Young adults aged 18-35 are invited to participate in this two-night immersive experience, designed to educate on environmental issues, create positive memories and inspire continued contribution to nature.
Participants will have the opportunity to be immersed in bushland and river landscapes promoting a greater understanding and appreciation of local ecosystems. Attendees will engage in land restoration, learn about native flora and fauna, and develop conservation skills.
Expressions of interest to participate in the Caring for Nature Camp open Friday 9 and close midnight Sunday 8 September. Young adults are encouraged to apply and save their spot via shepp.city/nature-camp. Preference will be given to those from, or connected to, the local Goulburn Broken catchment area, however all are welcome to apply.
The camp includes guest speakers, practical experiences and meals, with pricing as follows:

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Cr Shane Sali, encouraged young residents to sign up and participate in this hands-on experience.
“A first for our region, we are looking forward to seeing the camp come to life. This is a fantastic opportunity for young adults in the community to be active, learn new skills and connect with our regional landscape,” he said.

RiverConnect Project Officer, Alison White, invited young adults to apply via the expression of interest and take action for the environment.
