RiverConnect lead a Native Wildlife incursion for the Wombat group at Kialla Children’s Centre in April.

The 'Wombat' Kinder class participated in an interactive talk, learning all about the native animals that live in our local area.

The children looked at Landcare taxidermy animal collection which included a Kookaburra, Squirrel Glider, micro-bats and a Yellow- footed antechinus. They learnt about where these animals live and why it is important to look after our local bushland.

Story time was the book 'Sammy the Squirrel Glider and the Fairley Tree'. Sammy is looking for a home in the fairley tree and meets lots of different animals along the way.

In Term 3 the children will go on investigative walk around the local recreation reserve.

These opportunities encourage the children to connect with and contribute to their world (EYLF Outcome 2).
