Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in becoming an Environmental Volunteer with RiverConnect and Greater Shepparton City Council.

Opportunities to volunteer could include:

  • Assisting with Planting Days (May to Aug)
  • Weeding
  • Rubbish collection
  • Removal of guards from planting sites
  • Watering
  • Taking photos or videos
  • Assisting with RiverConnect events

To get started, please complete the following three steps:

 1. OHS Volunteer Induction

Once completed, please send a screenshot or snip of your induction card to:
📧 onetreeperchild@shepparton.vic.gov.au

 2. Working with Children Check (WWCC) - Apply here

As part of our commitment to child safety, all volunteers must hold a valid Working with Children Check.

  • If you already have an Employee WWCC, you do not need to apply again—simply provide your current WWCC card number.
  • If you do not have one, you can apply for a free Volunteer WWCC and list Greater Shepparton City Council as the organisation.

Once completed, please email your WWCC card number and the surname used in your registration to:
📧 onetreeperchild@shepparton.vic.gov.au

 3. Create a Volunteer Profile in Better Impact

Please register via Better Impact.

Once you’ve completed all steps, please let us know via onetreeperchild@shepparton.vic.gov.au and we look forward to having you at future events.
