Shepparton High VCAL - linking back to the classroom

News article posted on 1 November, 2015

Following on from their sessions at the river, the VCAL students at Shepparton High have spent time back in the classroom reflecting on what they learnt.

The students who took part in the RiverConnect Activities at Shepparton Weir in Term 3 have been busy back in the classroom following up on what they learnt while out in the field.

They did research on selected fauna species that live along the river, studied the different plant species found naturally in the area and even got their creativity hats on making a Native Animal Art Mobile to hang in the library. The display brought students in who wouldn’t usually go to the library.

We encourage students and teachers to do follow up activities and research back in the class room after a session at the river. This brings more value to the experience and reinforces what was learnt outdoors.
