FloodSafe Week

A launch event was held for four new flood information products on the sunny banks of the Goulburn River in Murchison yesterday as part of National FloodSafe Week.

The Historical Flood Markers, Emergency Safety Kit, Flood Guides and Flood Safety easy english publications all provide valuable local information and contacts necessary in an emergency event.

Each of the publications compliment each other well. The Local Flood Guide provides information on local flood mapping, warnings and how to prepare for a flood, whilst the Emergency Safety Kit provides easy access and information on all types of emergencies.

The Flood Safety Easy English brochure consolidates important flood information and the Historical Flood Markers give a visual representation of past flood levels and enable users to access further information through the use of QR technology.

Each project involved expert input, advice and funding from many partners including; Greater Shepparton City Council, Vic SES, Goulburn Broken Catchment Managment Authority, RiverConnect, Department of Environment and Primary Industries, Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria, Red Cross and CFA.
